Zola is seeking a high-energy, analytical and motivated Associate Merchandise Planner. This role will report into the Head of Strategic Finance & Planning and will partner closely with the merchandising, operations, and financial planning teams to manage and optimize assortment and inventory. This will be a great opportunity to broaden scope significantly for someone with a traditional merchandise planning background. This role is based in NYC, with 2 days a week in office (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inventory across 500+ dropship and owned vendors, including supervising a small offshore team. Place and track inventory receipts to optimize assortment and minimize backorders. Propose inventory buys and manage to inventory turns and WOS goals
  • Proactively initiate communications to resolve assortment issues and develop productive working relationships with external vendors
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on business trends and partner with merchandising team to identify business opportunities, risks and propose recommendations
  • Support and participate in annual planning or other strategic discussions with key vendors
  • Provide category and department insights to support OTB, monthly forecasting and annual planning
  • Build strong cross functional partnerships with operations, customer success and accounting teams to optimize vendor and customer experience
  • Proactively drive process and workflow improvements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years in an analytical role including experience in merchandise or inventory planning. Familiarity with retail math a must; experience with OTB forecasting a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel required, proficiency in Looker and/or SQL a plus
  • Ability to analyze, conceptualize and make data-driven decisions
  • Highly effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Team player and collaborator

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000.
