Job Summary:
The Director of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the financial infrastructure and strategy of a rapidly growing healthcare company, specializing in over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription products. This role will oversee financial planning, cash flow management, KPI reporting, and compliance while driving growth across both B2B and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels. As a key member of the leadership team in a Series A company, the Director of Finance will be responsible for managing the financial complexities of selling through multiple channels and ensuring that the company’s growth strategy is supported by sound financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth trajectory across B2B and DTC channels. Partner with the executive team to optimize funding, operational expenses, and profitability, ensuring sustainable scaling.
- Budgeting & Financial Forecasting: Lead budgeting processes and build financial models to support future fundraising and expansion initiatives. Provide cash flow analysis and financial forecasting that reflects the evolving needs of a growing startup.
- KPI Reporting & Financial Insights: Establish, track, and report on key financial and operational KPIs. Provide actionable insights to the executive team, board members, and potential investors, with a focus on metrics that drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Cost Control & Profitability: Analyze and manage cost structures, focusing on margin improvement and sustainable growth. Implement financial controls that support operational efficiency while maintaining quality in OTC and prescription product lines.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Oversee cash flow management to ensure liquidity for operational and growth initiatives. Maintain effective working capital management strategies to support the company’s rapid scaling and minimize financial risks.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders and investors. Ensure the company meets all legal and regulatory compliance requirements, including tax filings, healthcare regulations, and accounting standards.
- Fundraising Support & Investor Relations: Support growth investments by preparing financial projections, due diligence documentation, and investor presentations. Build strong relationships with current and prospective investors, clearly communicating the company’s financial health and growth potential.
- Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead the finance team (including external functions) as the company grows. Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, agility, and results.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required. MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a startup or growth-stage environment. Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience is a strong plus. Experience in Series A or early-stage companies is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Experience with accounting software and financial management systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms. Familiarity with GAAP and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
- Startup Mindset: Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a willingness to take on multiple roles and drive financial operations with limited resources.
- Communication & Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial executives, investors, and stakeholders. Experience in building and scaling finance teams is a plus.

Salary Range:
Salary range will vary based on experience level, with upper range for candidates with C-Level experience or capability
