We are committed to helping individuals navigate the world of consumer-initiated genetic testing.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic genetic counselor to provide telehealth (video or phone) genetic counseling consultations, outreach, and review of test orders for patients with a variety of indications, including hereditary cancer risk, cardiogenetics, rare disease, early cancer screening (liquid biopsy), and pharmacogenetics. The majority of consultations are geared towards a discussion of consumer-initiated testing results, but there are also some more “traditional” pre- and post-test counseling referrals. We are seeking a contractor to provide 10-20 hours of services.

The contractor will provide 10-20 hours of services per week including:

  • Providing genetic counseling consults via telephone or video for a variety of indications.
  • Generating consult summary reports for the patient’s records.
  • Utilizing medical literature in the analysis of genetic disorders related to individualized patient care.
  • Reviewing genetic test orders to ensure appropriate test ordering.
  • Conducting outreach calls to clarify personal and family history and discuss limitations of testing when applicable.
  • Contributing to keeping support resources up to date with changing testing and medical management practices

Who You Are:

  • ABGC Board-certified and a Master’s Degree in Medical Genetics/Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Must reside in the US.
  • At least two years of experience in clinical genetic counseling.
  • Willingness to provide genetic counseling for all indications

Preffered Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure is preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Cancer and/or pharmacogenetic specialty preferred, but not required; or willingness to act as a clinical lead in cancer/pharmacogenomic specialty area
