About the Role
As Finance Manager at Little Spoon, you will play a critical role in overseeing, driving and optimizing our financial operations. You will work closely with cross functional leaders to manage financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively.
What You’ll Do
FP&A / Finance
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets. Analyze financial performance and variances, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
- Budget Management: Oversee the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and identify areas for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain cross functional models to support both finance and operations initiatives. Ensure these models are robust, clear, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Reporting: Prepare and present financials to senior leadership. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Financial Systems: Implement financial software and systems to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance & accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Provide guidance and support for professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments to provide financial insights and support for business initiatives. Collaborate on projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
Process Improvement
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations, reduce inefficiencies, and drive operational excellence.
- Automation: Automate routine financial tasks and reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- KPI Development: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of process changes and identify further areas for improvement.
- Workflow Streamlining: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and integrate financial processes with operational strategies.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with a strong background in FP&A at a consumer goods business with fast-moving inventory across multiple locations
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas and financial modeling
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong people motivator and management skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL a plus but not required
