Materials Manager

About the Role:
The Materials Manager will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring timely availability of materials, and facilitating effective communication across departments and with external partners. With a bias towards action and collaborative problem-solving, this role is crucial in maintaining efficient supply chain operations and meeting our commitment to delivering high-quality meals to our customers.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the integration of MRP planning strategies with planning tools in order to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Update KPIs and trimester goals actively, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Lead all tactical areas of materials and inventory planning to prevent stockouts and optimize inventory levels.
- Coordinate waste reduction efforts related to aging or obsolete raw materials.
- Develop and maintain an accurate inventory management system to track all raw materials across product categories.
- Collaborate with planning, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Support receiving and inventory management records of raw materials, including invoice reconciliation.
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight partners, copackers, fulfillment centers, and warehouses to ensure on-time delivery.
- Inform stakeholders of order status, delays, or other relevant information.
- Work with all divisions and departments to establish and maintain purchasing plans for all raw materials based on up-to-date demand forecasts, with an ability to pivot quickly and scrupulously prioritize competing demands.
Who You Are:
- Understanding of procurement, manufacturing, and logistics processes.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to multitask and work independently or collaboratively.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory management for food manufacturing, product development, and supply chain operations.
- Experience with ensuring quality, safety, and good manufacturing processes (GMPs) are followed.
- Ability to think creatively and develop solutions to ever-changing business needs and competing priorities.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to execute daily tasks quickly and error-free.
- Comfortable working independently and communicating regularly with remote team members.
- Process-driven with a proactive “get-things-done” attitude.
- Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- This position works with all departments, from sales to operations, and has a tremendous impact on overall operational efficiency.
