Location: New York City (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
Little Spoon is on a mission to make parents’ lives easier and kids healthier by bringing the future of kids’ food to the modern parent. We’ve built the fastest-growing baby and kids food brand in the U.S., delivering healthy meals, snacks and nutrition solutions straight to families’ doors. With more than 50 million meals delivered and an ever-expanding product portfolio, we’re looking for a strategic finance leader to help support our next phase of growth.
As CFO, you will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and Leadership team, responsible for leading financial strategy, strategic planning, capital markets and business intelligence while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainable growth. This role goes beyond finance—it requires big-picture thinking, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where strategy meets execution. You won’t just set financial goals from a distance – you’ll be comfortable getting in the weeds as needed, working cross-functionally to drive results, optimize operations, and roll up your sleeves to drive the business forward.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, embraces action, and is relentlessly focused on impact. Agility and adaptability are key – you’ll need to balance high-level strategy with tactical execution, ensuring that every decision supports Little Spoon’s mission and long-term success.
What You’ll Do:

- Develop and execute a forward-looking financial strategy that aligns with Little Spoon’s growth ambitions, ensuring a balance between profitability, growth investments, and innovation.
- Lead strategic planning, goal setting, and budgeting processes, ensuring company-wide alignment on priorities and financial targets.
- Build multi-year financial models and scenario plans to assess growth opportunities, market risks, and return on investment.
- Drive performance analysis, tracking key financial and business health KPIs to provide actionable insights that inform leadership decisions.
- Develop and present comprehensive reporting to the Board, Leadership, and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Investor Relations & Capital Markets
- Lead capital markets efforts, including equity financing, debt, and potential strategic M&A.
- Partner with the CEO to manage relationships with investors, lenders, bankers and other financial stakeholders, effectively communicating Little Spoon’s growth trajectory and financial performance.
- Support investment decisions to optimize capital allocation and cash flow management, ensuring financial flexibility for future expansion.
Business Operations, Efficiency & Profitability
- Drive operational efficiency across Little Spoon, partnering with teams to continuously improve our ways of working, project management and internal systems.
- Implement scalable financial systems, reporting tools, and automation to enhance decision-making speed and accuracy.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous COGS reduction, supply chain optimization, and gross margin improvements, ensuring financial sustainability, customer affordability and product quality.
- Partner with Marketing to maximize ROIC for all brand and growth investments.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of ownership, agility, and accountability.
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and Leadership team, embedding financial discipline into every key business decision.
- Ensure strong collaboration across departments and best-in-class financial infrastructure as the company continues to grow in size, headcount and complexity.
Business Intelligence
- Ensure Little Spoon successfully leverages analytics, data science and insights to drive decision making across the business that will drive top-line growth, improve efficiency and bottom-line results, and deliver a best-in-class experience.
- Support strategic data infrastructure and analytics capabilities across all aspects of the business, from demand prediction to customer acquisition to product assortment to customer experience.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Implement robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with tax, legal, and other relevant regulations.
- Develop scenario planning frameworks to navigate economic shifts, inflation, and supply chain risks.
- Maintain transparency and integrity in financial reporting and governance.
Who You Are:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in strategic finance with a proven track record of driving growth, optimizing financial performance, and aligning business objectives across multiple functions.
- Proven ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment of increasing size and complexity.
- Experience leading finance for a fast-growing CPG company with omni-channel business, understanding the complexities of multi-channel growth and profitability.
- Preference for candidates with expertise in subscription-based business models, including proficiency in financial modeling, customer lifetime value, churn analysis, and other key metrics that influence revenue and profitability.
- Preference for candidates with experience in food and beverage.
- Experience with Investor Relations and Capital Markets, including a strong background in fundraising, M&A, financial storytelling, and managing investor relationships.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-performing teams, and influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
- Experience overseeing a Business Intelligence/Analytics function and team. A data-driven, results-oriented approach to decision-making, with the ability to leverage analytics and insights to shape strategy and drive operational excellence.
- Preference for candidates with hands-on experience in data analysis and tools (e.g., SQL, data visualization, etc.), with the ability to extract, interpret, and leverage data to drive strategic decision-making.
