About the company

This AI-powered beauty technology team is building a trusted platform that helps people discover and shop for skincare through personalized, expert-backed guidance. Their proprietary AI uses users’ skin concerns, goals, routines, and product preferences—grounded in dermatology-informed knowledge and a large product database—to turn education into confident purchasing decisions. The company operates in a fast-growing, US-headquartered environment founded in 2025, with a strong community presence through a large Spanish-language skincare ecosystem. The work sits at the intersection of AI, content and community, and commerce, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy product impact that’s both data-driven and people-focused.

What we need you to tackle

What We're Looking For

Required 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production applications. Strong fundamentals in TypeScript/JavaScript and confidence building with a modern TypeScript stack (Node/Bun, a web framework, React or React Native). Solid grasp of core CS fundamentals: data structures, HTTP/REST APIs, and relational databases / SQL. Confident with Git and GitHub-based workflows (branches, pull requests, code review). Comfortable deploying applications to cloud platforms such as Railway or Render. Able to write and run database migrations safely across environments. Familiarity integrating third-party developer platforms and APIs — Meta / Facebook Developers experience is a plus. Ability to read and reason about an unfamiliar codebase, including a Java/Spring backend — enough to follow logic and contribute small changes. A bias toward clean, structured solutions and tested code rather than quick hacks or workarounds. Evidence you can ship: production work, a portfolio, or open-source contributions we can look at. Ownership, strong communication, and the drive to level up quickly.

Non-negotiable hard skills

  • Backend Development
  • Full Stack Development
  • React Native
  • Software Engineering

Your day-to-day

  • Build and ship features across our new TypeScript codebase — API endpoints, admin tools, and mobile app screens.
  • Own small-to-medium features end to end, from scoping through deployment and monitoring.
  • Write clear, well-tested code; add unit and integration tests for everything you change. Work with relational data through Prisma and Postgres (Supabase), and integrate third-party services (Shopify, Meta/Facebook, AI providers, analytics).
  • Help migrate functionality from the existing Java/Spring + React Native system into the new platform, ensuring behavior matches.
  • Participate actively in code review — both giving and receiving feedback.
  • Debug real production issues and use observability tooling (logs, Sentry, metrics) to find root causes.

Nice to haves

  • Design, consume, and secure HTTP/REST endpoints with JWT/OAuth. Critical for backend endpoints, admin tools, mobile app flows, and third‑party integrations.
  • Read and reason about Spring Boot code to match behavior and make small changes during migration, ensuring parity between old and new systems.
  • Integrate external platforms (e.g., Meta/Facebook Graph API, Shopify, AI providers) with webhooks and OAuth. Enables key product capabilities and analytics/commerce flows.
