The Role

We’re looking for an AI / Machine Learning Engineer to own the model layer behind intelligence platform.

You’ll work on document intelligence, OCR, LLMs in production, model evaluation, and drift detection, helping transform complex financial information into reliable signals and decisions.

This is not a role where you’ll simply experiment with models or build isolated prototypes. We’re looking for someone who can take AI/ML systems from experimentation into production and continuously evaluate and improve how they perform.

What You’ll Own

• Build and improve document intelligence and extraction pipelines
• Work with OCR and LLM-based extraction across financial and business documents
• Design and productionize LLM-powered components
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure model and extraction quality
• Develop golden datasets and track metrics such as precision and recall
• Monitor model performance and implement drift detection
• Improve reliability, accuracy, and explainability of AI/ML systems
• Help turn financial data and documents into signals that support lending decisions
• Work directly with the founders and engineering team on product and architecture decisions
• Take ownership from experimentation through production and iteration

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of applied Machine Learning experience
• Hands-on experience deploying ML/AI systems into production
• Experience with LLMs in production, beyond basic prompting or prototypes
• Strong experience with document intelligence, OCR, or document extraction pipelines
• Experience designing and running model evaluation frameworks
• Understanding of model monitoring and drift detection
• Strong engineering mindset with an emphasis on reliability and measurable performance
• Comfortable operating in an early-stage, zero-to-one environment
• High ownership mentality and ability to move quickly with limited structure

Strong Plus

Experience in any of the following would be especially valuable:

• Fintech, lending, credit, or risk
• Bank statement or financial-document analysis
• Credit bureau or tax-authority data
• Feature stores and point-in-time correctness
• Label engineering from performance data
• Shadow deployments and champion/challenger models
• Drift monitoring such as PSI/CSI
• Model explainability and reason codes
• LLM evals, regression testing, and CI evaluation gates
• Spanish or experience building products for the Mexican / LATAM market
