At Pareto.AI, we’re on a mission to enable top talent around the world to participate in the development of cutting-edge AI models.
In coming years, AI models will transform how we work and create thousands of new AI training jobs for skilled talent around the world. We’ve joined forces with top AI and crowd researchers at Anthropic, Character.AI, Imbue, Stanford, and University of Pennsylvania to build a fair and ethical platform for AI developers to collaborate with domain experts to train bespoke AI models.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager – Partnerships to build and manage strategic relationships with Digital Intellectual Property (IP) owners and AI labs. This role blends program management, partnerships, and technical/IP diligence—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and legal deal-making.
You’ll own Digital Intellectual Property (IP) acquisition and licensing deals from start to finish: sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, legal due diligence, and execution. Over time, you’ll build a scalable playbook and portfolio that drives recurring deal flow and long-term value for Pareto and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Source, engage, and manage relationships with IP owners.
Act as intermediary between IP owners and AI labs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI).
Coordinate legal/IP due diligence and contracts (MNDA, content evaluation, IP transfer).
Negotiate commercial terms and deal structures.
Oversee technical digital IP evaluation (metadata, samples, quality checks).
Manage timelines and stakeholder communication across Pareto, IP owners, and labs.
Build repeatable playbooks for IP acquisition and licensing.
What You’ll Work on Daily
Outreach and relationship management with IP owners.
Running IP evaluations (collecting metadata, code samples).
Coordinating legal documentation and due diligence.
Negotiating pricing and deal terms.
Internal reporting and alignment with Pareto + client stakeholders.
Key Initiatives You’ll Support
Digital IP sourcing and acquisition pipeline.
AI lab partnerships (training & benchmarking content).
Commercial expansion (multi-lab licensing, portfolio building).
What Success Looks Like
Short-term (0–6 months):
Close 2–3 acquisition/licensing deals.
Create a playbook for repeatable deal execution.
Long-term (6–18 months):
Build a scalable acquisition pipeline.
Manage a portfolio of assets generating revenue from multiple AI labs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with GitHub/Git workflows
Understanding of IP/licensing models (open source vs proprietary).
Strong deal negotiation and contract management skills.
3–7+ years in business development, partnerships, program management, product management, or technical program management, ideally with exposure to software/IP transactions.
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Computer Science, Law, or related). Equivalent experience acceptable.
Industry experience in SaaS, dev tools, AI/ML, or open-source ecosystems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
Prior experience with IP transfers, M&A, or licensing agreements.
Network in OSS or AI developer communities.
Exposure to AI training/benchmarking workflows.
Experience in technical diligence for software/codebases.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Negotiation and conflict resolution ability.
High attention to detail, especially with legal/contract work.
Why Join Pareto?
Work directly with top AI labs (Anthropic, Google Deepmind, Amazon,OpenAI, Cognition, etc.) on strategic IP acquisitions.
Help shape a new category at the intersection of AI training + OSS/IP deal-making.
Direct impact on Pareto’s growth by building our acquisition/licensing pipeline.
Be part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial, high-ownership culture.
